John, who emailed me below with his support, is an experienced shooter who has participated in almost all the Rimfire Challenges and an NRA 3GE shoot we have held at Canawacta (he has won all our events has entered!) He has competed at clubs up and down the eastern US. We have learned a great deal from him and the other visiting competitors he has brought to our events. He comes to our club from Bradford County, PA.

Subject: Re: Canawacta Gun Club in Turmoil
I am very sorry to hear about the situation that exists up at the Canawacta Rod and Gun Club. As you know I met you and “Ace” last year at one of your NSSF Rimfire matches. Since then I have attended most of the NSSF Rimfire matches and one of the NRA 3GE events. Both of these shooting sports events were designed to educate and encourage young shooters and new shooters through competition. Without events like these, where are our future shooters going to come from? Where will they learn the fundamentals of accurate shooting in a safely controlled atmosphere of friendly competition?
I know that “Ace” and you put a lot of your time and effort into these events. They are important to the shooters who participate and they are an important part of our culture. To lose these events in our area would be a shame.
I am not a Canawacta member but I think it would a huge mistake to oust the few members (like you and Ace) that actually work hard to make your club an inviting venue for the shooting sports. I sincerely hope common sense wins out and you and “Ace” continue to offer your services to the Canawacta Rod and Gun Club and to the local competitive shooting community. Please feel free to use my comments to assist you in your efforts. Thank you for all you have done. I look forward to shooting with you again real soon. John T.
